RAVIDA FLEUR DE SEL is a sea salt especially rich in Magnesium and minerals, produced on the salt pans along the western coast of Sicily. These enchanting lagoons, populated by flamingos, overlook the Mediterranean Sea and are crossed by warm African winds.
In this area, protected by the WWF, this natural untreated salt is still made by traditional methods carried down by generations.
The saltpans are filled with seawater in spring. The shallow waters of these lagoons are slowly dried by the Sicilian sun and strong warm African winds to produce sea salt.
The very first pick, the very thin, delicate and fluffy crystals that emerge on the surface become our Fiore di Sale – Fleur de Sel – the lightest flakes of salt in the pan, very rich in magnesium, potassium and other minerals. You will find it to be very soluble and with no bitter aftertaste.
